If elected to the Indiana House of Representatives I would legalize marijuana.
I would also like to legalize marriage. I guess that makes me a radical. Talk about an uphill battle. But, for this special day lets stick to the chronic topic.
HB 420
House Bll 420
From this moment forward I call on all members of our House of Representatives to decriminalize and legalize marijuana within the state of Indiana.
Individuals should be able to grow their own. Businesses should be allowed to sell at a rate of $65 an eighth of an ounce (3.5 grams) of marijuana. Included in that $65 sale price $12 will go directly to the State of Indiana to be distributed evenly to our departments of Education and Transportation where it will be divided equally among townships.
Businesses may sell and persons may travel with no more than 2 ounces (57 grams) of flower and corresponding gummy or oil.
If a person is currently serving a non violent simple marijuana possession sentence they shall be released from incarceration and that conviction shall be expunged from their permanent records. As well as the records from any citizen with a previous marijuana possession record.
I know there is a lot more to it. However, I believe this to be a great starting point for our state moving forward.
