December 7th 1941

Before I leave this morning to take part in the democratic process let me first pause to remember the tragic events of this day.

December 7, 1941 a date which will live in infamy the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.

FDR Speech on Dec, 8th to Congress

Only 38 years before I was born.

The United States was at peace with that Nation and, at the solicitation of Japan, was still in conversation with its Government and its Emperor looking toward the maintenance of peace in the Pacific.

Continuation from above

No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory.

FDR was right

I hope you know the rest of the story. If not, please look it up. I bring this up today to say thank you to the few surviving members of the Greatest Generation that fought for all the freedoms that we have today.

Some gave all,

All gave some

USS Arizona Memorial
Tomb for 1,102 soldiers
The quietest place on Earth

In all an this date 78 years ago,

In Pearl Harbor

2,403 American were killed

1,1078 wounded

A day that will live in infamy

Thank You once again to all of our brave military service personal and their families past, present, and future. Without you there is no US. Without you I wouldn’t be able to travel to Grant and Blackford counties in Indiana to try to get elected to Congress.

Never forget,

Ken.
