For my daughters

The easy answer to the question of “Why do you want to get involved with politics?

For my daughters.

Quotable response

Plainly stated, I refuse to sit idly by any longer why we as a nation continue to ignore the differences that divide US. Whether we’re speaking of gender, race, sexual orientation, or any other way we like to type cast ourselves.

If elected I promise to continue fighting for Equal Rights, Civil Rights, Education, Alternative Energy, and/or whatever other issues the voters in our district want at the forefront. For my daughters, I’ll focus on self sustainability as it pertains our State and Nation. It won’t be easy, but I think it’s a good starting place for a new politician.

Platform pillars

As a young teenager I decided to live my life as if every decision I made would affect my kids by effecting myself and those around me. It’s really helped focus my decision making. Now as a parent of two young kids, a husband, a brother, and a teacher of thousands it’s now even more paramount.

For my entire life all I can honestly remember wanting to do is help people help themselves. I always thought about being a teacher. It checked that box and you can’t beat the schedule. I also considered being a social worker or a nurse. However, I knew I would be way to emotional for either of those professions.

I met with recruiters about joining the Armed Forces, but forgoed to attend college, possibly play sports, and get a degree to help people.

Now as a stay at home dad I find myself with an amazing opportunity to restart my professional career and continue to affect the future in a positive way. I spent the first years years of my professional life trying to help kids understand that they are solely responsible for their future. Now, I’m trying to help my kids understand the same concept. In the future I want to include the adults within this district, and the other elected officials that govern our land to understand the same.

As a kid I never really believed a regular person could be in politics.

But, now as an adult I realize that being a politician is completely attainable.

I’m not trying to talk down to politicians. I think to be a politician you need your own set of skills and characteristics to be effective. We are lucky that some of our elected officials do posses those skills and characteristics.

Others however,

do not.

Either way, if the true function of any politician is to meet people, talk with them, listen to them, and then represent them.

I know I can.

If the future depends on reading, writing, conversing, and making the best decisions now about tomorrow I don’t think there is anyone in this state more qualified than me.

I understand the tone of the above statement.

But, all the more reason for a guy like me to be apart of those conversations moving forward.

All of our kids and their kids futures depends on it.

Thanks for reading.
